Bridal Showers and Bachelorette Parties

Another aspect of wedding planning that's been going on is the planning of the bridal showers and bachelorette parties. I'm not actually doing any of the planning, but my sister has been keeping me in the loop on developments, which is super exciting. I'm really looking forward to having a girls' night, and I know that she (and some friends and family that are helping) are doing an awesome job of planning really fun activities!

Katie is actually organizing a couple different parties since the people coming to our wedding are so geographically dispersed - so we'll have a get together here in DC with all the friends in this area, a small get together in Boston for the members of the bridal party so that they get to meet each other at least once before the wedding, and then a more family-oriented get together in Minnesota (followed by a friend-oriented bachelorette party).

The crazy thing is that bridal shower always seems like something that's way off in the future - one of the things that happens pretty close to the wedding itself. But the DC bridal shower is only a little more than 2 weeks away. Which means the wedding is only about 12 or 13 weeks away! It's amazing how fast times goes - it really does seem like yesterday that Jeff and I had almost an entire year to plan... and now it's just a couple months!
