There was a movie on our flight out to Las Vegas on Friday - Diary of a Wimpy Kid. Even for a kid's movie, it really wasn't very good. It was just a bit boring; the story-line was a bit stale. It's about a very scrawny kid who is about to start middle school, and who is determined to be cool. Despite his attempts, he finds that he's basically at the bottom of the middle school food chain. There were some funny parts, though, the main character was a pretty cute little kid, and the overall message (appreciate your friends, be happy with who you are, etc.) was good. It helped pass the time on the airplane, but if you aren't stuck in a room/plane with this as your only option, I'd say it's safe to skip this one.Actually, one funny thing was that the dad in this movie is the same actor (Steve Zahn) that plays Davis McAlary in Treme, who is a crazy pot-head musician in that show. Odd to see him in such a different role.
