Fourth of July

Since there are 16 Americans in the ISU program, we decided to work together to plan a fourth of July celebration for the whole group (100+ people). We got all dressed up in red, white, and blue, and even found facepaint! All the Americans, and anyone else we could get to, headed to the metro with 'USA', a flay, or a star painted on their face.

We had our party at the Hard Rock Cafe, because we thought it was the most American place in town - and they even had decorations up! We met lots of other Americans there who had all gravitated to Hard Rock somehow. Also, it may have been easy for them to identify us as Americans due to all the facepaint. After Hard Rock, we went to a bar in the gothic district called "The Black Sheep" (only in Spanish). Again, there seemed to be quite a few Americans, and even the non-Americans seemed pretty happy to celebrate with us. Possibly one of the most festive and red-white-and-blue Independence Day parties I've ever had.
