Our first activity of the morning (after breakfast) was to buy a new refrigerator (for my parents house), so we headed to the mall of America and did some shopping. The next stop after that was a meeting with our photographer - Noah Wolf. I'll write all about that in a separate post, since it's wedding related. The short story is that it went really well!
Before dinner we went to the Prohibition Bar on the 27th floor of the Foshay tower. It was happy hour, so we tried the cocktails on their menu, which were all really good. The ambiance in the bar is pretty cool - it's got lots of secluded corners and semi-private rooms, so you have space to yourself. Also, apparently it's Wilbur Foshay's old office and boardroom and still has the original windows, stairs and African mahogany woodwork.
For dinner, we headed over to Max's in the Hotel Minneapolis. That's the hotel where most of the out of town wedding guests (and Jeff and I) are planning to stay, so we wanted to see what the restaurant was like. The decor is really cool - it's in an old bank, so it has a lot of the original architecture, along with some interesting details they've added. The food was pretty good, though it's a bit expensive for what you get. The people at the hotel also gave us a tour of some of the areas that they've recently renovated - part of the lobby is still under construction, but it will be finished by the wedding.
From there, it was off to the Metropolitan, where we stood in the back and watched our wedding band - Synergy - perform. Jeff and I had never seen them before, so it was exciting to see them - they're really good!
